Biography

Dr. Estefanía Baigorria holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences (2019, UNRC) and is an assistant researcher at CONICET (INTEMA-CONICET-UNMdP). Her work focuses on the development of sustainable adsorbent materials based on natural and modified clays, biopolymer-based hydrogels, and hybrid nanocomposites for environmental applications. In particular, she focuses on the development of materials used in aqueous remediation treatments for pesticides and arsenic. She has presented relevant research findings at more than 55 conferences and has published 24 articles and book chapters in peer-reviewed scientific journals and publications. She has an h-index of 12. She has received 6 national and international grants and 3 awards, and serves as a reviewer and guest editor for high-impact scientific journals as well as for public scientific organizations. She has been involved in training professionals and has taught at the high school, undergraduate, and graduate levels for more than 13 years. In addition, she actively participates in science outreach activities for the general public.
